Individuals

Emerging Adulthood (18-40) My warm, casual, and direct style works well in affirmatively exploring topics including: preparing for, navigating, or moving on from relationships, individuating from your family of origin, and exploring your independence, beauty or achievement standards, self-worth, identity, culture and sexuality.

Identity work

What is identity exploration? I love this question! I believe that our fullest contentment is found from within. When we give ourselves permission to accept our authentic self, we start to unlearn and release the beliefs, fears, and losses holding us hostage to external perception. While my therapeutic work centers sexuality, gender, and adoption, I welcome all young adults interested in knowing themselves and feeling confident about how they “show up” in their own life. I work with:

Adopted individuals looking to deepen and reclaim their sense of self. I work with clients to unpack their experiences and the impacts of domestic, inter-country, and transracial adoptions. As a domestic, foster-adopt individual, I believe reclaiming the narrative and integrating a personal understanding of the “adopted self” are vital to our healing process. I blend my personal connection and clinical knowledge of adoption traumas to assist other adopted, and foundling, adults explore self-concept, belonging, self-love, attachment style, complex trauma, emotional dysregulation; and more importantly, to heal from the unique pain, detachment, anger, confusion and sense of loss often experienced by adoptees.
I am also adept at working on issues related to the adoption “triad”, especially related to attachment, abandonment, difficult relationships with or estrangement from APs/family, decison-making in search and reunion, secondary rejection, and how to navigate unpacking the fog with non-adopted folks in your life.
Outside of individual therapy, I consistently engage, and welcome collaborative partnerships, in mental health and legal advocacy for adopted individuals, along with foster care reform.

LGBQ, Non-binary, & Trans affirming exploration of authentic identity through reclaiming self-worth and self-expression, curating body image without community norms or dysmorphia, inclusive sex education, navigating love and relationships, transition support, self-expression, artistry, and healing from environmental, family, religious, or internalized phobias and trauma.

Coaching/Educational Consultations

I provide coaching focused on relationships, self-esteem, goal-setting, leadership, career, and navigating life transitions. This allows me to expand my work to clients currently living outside of Montana and anyone looking for a coaching relationship with a professional background in clinical psychology and organizational development.

If you are a potential adoptive parent, a person struggling with infertility, or any caregiver or piece of the adoption constellation, I offer educational/resource-based consultations over a 20-minute session. I realize how difficult these conversations are and hope to provide a safe, unique environment where all questions are welcome. I believe adoptee and trauma-informed voices are a vital component to child-centered parenting/caregiving an adopted person of any age.
